Paper Is Not Dead
In an increasingly digital world, the value of printed media remains undeniable. While online content is essential for reaching modern audiences, print continues to offer unique benefits that digital formats can’t fully replicate—tangible engagement, offline accessibility, and a sense of permanence. Printed materials, from brochures to newsletters, still play a vital role in marketing and communication strategies. The good news is that all printed media can easily be formatted into digital versions, allowing for a seamless integration into broader multimedia campaigns. By combining the best of both worlds, businesses can effectively connect with audiences across multiple touchpoints, ensuring a more engaging and impactful outreach.
Communication Design
Print media can require a single piece of collateral, two-sided designs, or multiple independent pieces to create the desired experience for the recipient that stays on brand to the event or organization. Revitalizing vintage artwork or themes can create a powerful connection between your company and your customer, while in other cases, creating something entirely new is preferred.

Summer Catalog
Digital Guide
Released January 2023
This catalog is interactive and pages can be turned.
With several summer offerings for various age groups, the organization put out an all-in-one update to introduce these activities to families. Though this was the first publication of the year, the covers of the upcoming publications needed to be designed and introduced here. The concept was months in the making, but well executed.
Akela Adventure Camp Summer Survival Guide and the Bear Creek Leader’s Guides were introduced in this publication (see below).
*BSA National Brand Center provided program emblems for page 7 and badges for page 9. Royality-free PNG’s used throughout.
Bear Creek Leaders Guide
Digital Guide
Released March 2023
This catalog is interactive and pages can be turned.
Prior to this version, the camp’s summer guide was an evolved Word Document pieced together over several seasons. It was overdue for an overhaul. The information was categorized, then reviewed for relevance and accuracy, they updated with current information and images. The highlight of the guide was the class offerings and the color-coded key to match courses to the participants’ experience. Feedback from leaders was extremely positive.
*Stock images used on page 3 (1), 5 (2), 21 (1), 22 (1).
Akela Adventure Camp
Summer Camp Survival Guide
Digital Guide
Released March 2023
This catalog is interactive and pages can be turned.
Based on the Bear Creek Leader’s Guide, the Camp Director wished to have a guide of similar quality for their 4-5th grade camp – Akela Adventure Camp. Since this was the first resident resident open to these families, they wanted to highlight the activities participants would do here that were unavailable during previous camp experiences.
A new camp logo was created for this camp.
*BSA National Brand Center provided program emblems for page 8.
Fall Camp Leaders Guide
Digital Guide
Released September 2024
This catalog is interactive and pages can be turned.
This guide was a blast to create! The challenge here was that the organization had never run a camp during fall break, so there were no suitable images to use. Stock photos just wouldn’t cut it. So, I took a shot at being ridiculous, and with some base graphics using AI and some creative work in Photoshop, I turned my attention to turkey scouts. The color palette was easy with traditional fall/Thanksgiving colors. Upon providing the planning team with a mockup, the turkeys had 100% approval from the committee.
*AI generated images (turkeys), edited. The BSA National Brand Center provided all patch graphics.
Social Media Toolkit

As a tragedy for recruitment, the Social Media Toolkit was designed to encourage members to share their experiences with the organization as a grassroots marketing campaign. The guide was designed to be distributed digitally, with an option to be printed in the future.
